Preparing for Your Photo Shoot
In preparing for your upcoming boudoir photo shoot, here’s a few helpful things to consider:
- If you’d like to keep your face hidden, and/or if you have tattoos or other features you’d like to hide — that is no problem! I will ask you about this before we start.
- If you do want to hide tattoos or scars, consider bringing outfit options that help with that.
- If you see looks/concepts/poses that inspire you, let me know. Feel free to send me examples.
- Expect 60-90 min of low-stress shooting for solo shoots, 90-120+ min for duo doubles.
- I will direct and work with you to find great poses and flattering angles. Don’t worry if you’re unsure what to do. That’s my job. 🙂
- In selecting outfits to bring, pick things that make you feel happy and sexy, not just things you think will look sexy. — Comfortable is sexy.
- Remove visible tags and clothing labels whenever possible — I’ve seen so many pretty little thongs with big white “Victoria’s Secret” tags peeking through. Nooooo! 🙂
- Plan to arrive in your favorite casuals (for example, jeans & t-shirt, shorts & hoodie, yoga pants, whatever). — We may warm up the shoot with you in your street clothes, and taking them off is fun.
- Consider bringing something extra cozy like a fluffy robe, an oversize sweater, silk pajamas, etc. — These can be surprisingly sexy.
- Have a favorite necklace, bracelet, earrings, hat, wig, tutu, stuffed animal, costume mask, sunglasses, etc? — bring them! — Accessories add character, and are fun to shoot with.
- If you wear high-heels and/or boots, Yes! Bring them. — Make sure to clean up scuffs and remove tags. Don’t forget to check the bottom of the shoes for price tags and stickers.
- Stockings and knee-socks are classic and always fun.
- Shave/wax the day or evening before to give your skin plenty of time to calm down.
- To maximize shooting time, please do your hair and makeup beforehand. Clean and simple is usually best. I can advise if you’re unsure what to do.
- Clip and paint/manicure your nails (fingers and toes) if possible.
- Just before the shoot, don’t wear anything too tight to minimize marks on your skin.
- Avoid wearing white deodorant!
- Moisturize and hydrate.
- Eat a little something before the session.
- Most importantly… Relax. Breathe. You are strong and gorgeous and this is going to be fun!
A specific day and time has been reserved for you. We will get the best results (and the most pictures) if you arrive ready and on time!
